It’s tempting here to shorten the hole by playing a long tee shot over the bunker. However, get caught in the bunker or down in the rough on this right side and your second shot is suddenly blind—and long. Drive just over the left edge of the bunker, then play your second shot down the left-center of the fairway. This play leaves you with one of the most exciting approach shots on the course. If the flagstick is placed on the bottom portion of this big, two-level green, then that’s where you must pitch your approach. Flagstick on top? Stick it close.
