All New Teaching Academy and Practice Facility is Coming to The Golf Club of Georgia 2017!
We’re starting construction at the tee at the west end of the range, which is the current location of the chipping green. This tee will be intended for warming up before a round and thus smaller in size. Parking will be located immediately adjacent to the tee for convenience.
The target greens and fairway in the middle of the range will be grassed with zoysia, which will provide a contrast from the surrounding bermuda rough for visibility. The target greens in the middle of the range will be two-sided to allow them to be used from either end of the facility.
The east end will house the training academy and 9-hole par 3 course. The building will have three bays, currently one for RoboGolfPro, one for instruction and the third for future programs. It will also have tee space in front for instruction on real grass, a bunker, chipping and putting green. The east end tee and surrounding area will provide all types of lies to practice a variety of shots from short mown areas to rough. The par 3 course will consist of three greens played from nine tees with hole lengths varying from 40 to 85 yards. It will be great for tuning-up your short game and developing junior players.
The end result is to offer our members the finest training facility and practice area experience in Georgia.
We expect this new amenity to begin construction in November of 2016 and be complete by April 2017.
